Pectoral augmentation with implants

Pectoral implants add volume and definition to the chest in men whose pectoral muscle stays underdeveloped despite training, or who have an asymmetry, including Poland syndrome.

What a pectoral implant is

A pectoral implant is made of solid silicone that is soft to the touch and cannot rupture or leak. It is placed under the pectoralis major muscle and enhances its volume and shape.

Who it is for

  • men who have a flat chest despite exercise;
  • people with an asymmetry between the two sides of the chest;
  • patients with Poland syndrome (incomplete development of the pectoral muscle on one side), for whom the implant can be custom-sized.

How the operation is done

The operation is done under general anaesthesia and takes one to three hours. The incision is usually in the armpit, so the scar is not visible on the chest. The implant is placed under the pectoralis major after a pocket matching its size is created. An overnight stay usually follows.

Recovery

  • First 1–2 weeks: pain and limited arm movement; you wear a compression vest.
  • 1–2 weeks: back to desk work.
  • 6–8 weeks: upper-body training resumes gradually, with the doctor’s approval.

Risks and things to know

  • seroma, haematoma or infection;
  • implant displacement or asymmetry;
  • the edge of the implant may be visible in very lean men;
  • temporary changes in sensation.

Results vary from one patient to another.

How it works

01

Consultation

You tell us what you would like. After the examination you learn your options, the result you can expect and the risks involved.

02

Preparation

You get the list of tests and, if needed, guidance on medication to pause. We then agree on the date together.

03

Procedure

Anaesthesia: general. Duration: about 1–3 hours. Hospital stay: usually one night.

04

Recovery

Back to routine: after 1–2 weeks (gym after 6–8 weeks). Your check-ups are here, and you can reach us by phone or WhatsApp with any questions.

Leg exercises and light cardio resume after a few weeks, and chest and arm training after about 6–8 weeks, with the doctor’s approval.

Not in the way breast implants can. A pectoral implant is made of solid silicone and contains no gel that could leak.
